What is the main difference between storage water heaters and instantaneous water heaters?

PrintE-mail

The instantaneous water heaters heat the water without use of storage tank. They heat the water instantly as it passes through the heating elements. The units only activate when the hot water tap is opened unlike traditional water heaters. This result in a direct saving of energy, as no standby heat losses is associated to maintain the desired temperature of water.
